In this scene, the separation between the two characters created by the table combined with how uncomfortably designed the chairs and how they are positioned to the side of the boss portals the modernist theme of the boss to worker dynamic.  This is spatially reinforced through the abundance of walkable space within the frame which gives the boss more of a dominating presence. 

Red: Rule of Thirds

Yellow: Light

The rule of thirds is used to establish the unequal dynamic between the two characters.

When looking at the frame, we can see that the boss is positioned at the exact centre of the frame where there is the highest concentration of light while the other character is more to the side of the frame hunched over and facing away from the camera.
